For thousands of animals, access to care can depend on distance, affordability, and whether support can reach the community they call home. By removing these barriers, CATF works to meet people where they are — and this campaign is a vital part of making that care possible. > Story here.

The Story

The urgency of this need became very real on the way to our most recent clinic.

Our large trailer suffered a broken rear axle while fully loaded and en route to the community. Having a trailer full of essential equipment and supplies stranded on the side of the highway was far from ideal.

But what happened next reflected exactly what the Task Force is built on.

As the first wave of volunteers passed, they stopped one by one, took what they could carry, and relayed the supplies the rest of the way to the clinic. Everyone shared the load, and the work continued.

It was an incredible example of collaboration and community support. It was also a reminder of how heavily our work depends on safe, reliable transportation.

Our large Clinic Operations Trailer has been with us since 2012 and has carried the majority of the load for clinics and programs across Alberta. After years of long distances, heavy equipment, and demanding travel, and its recent breakdown made it clear that it now needs to be replaced.

Unfortunately, our Expedition has also reached the same point.

It has served us well, but it has exceeded its practical capacity and can no longer continue making the long and taxing journeys required to haul our trailers safely across the province.

Together, these two pieces of equipment make so much of our work possible. They carry veterinary supplies, equipment, crates, food, program materials, and everything needed to bring support directly to communities. Beyond carrying equipment and supplies, our Expedition has helped countless animals access care when distance might otherwise have stood in the way.

Your gift helps reach the next animal.
